Job Description
Job Title: Senior Hardware Engineer, Control Electronics – Quantum AI. Location: Goleta, CA, USA
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of control and measurement hardware systems for quantum computing.
- Oversee board-level hardware development projects from concept to implementation;
- Work cross-functionally with RF, analog/mixed-signal, and software teams to integrate solutions into quantum systems.
- Support characterization and testing using RF tools such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes;
- Contribute to project planning, roadmapping, and deployment activities for electronics across Google's quantum fleet.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience designing hardware systems;
- Experience in analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
- Familiarity with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Allegro).
- Experience in analog/mixed-signal and RF system design;
- Skilled in RF testing and calibration using advanced instrumentation.
- Experience leading complex hardware development projects;
- Proficiency in microwave simulation tools and electromagnetic modeling.
Benefits:
- US base salary range: $147,000 – $216,000
