Lead AMO Theory Architect

Job Title: Lead AMO Theory Architect: Location: Broomfield, CO or Brooklyn Park, MN (On-site)

You’ll work from either our Broomfield, CO or Brooklyn Park, MN office and lead architecture efforts that integrate cutting-edge quantum technologies; This is a key technical leadership position in a rapidly growing company that is shaping the future of quantum computing.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team to design scalable quantum computer architectures
• Analyze the performance of various system configurations
• Define system-level and sub-system requirements;
• Run simulations for quantum operations like gates, readout, and cooling
• Collaborate with sub-system teams to identify new technologies for integration
• Present proposals and findings to technical and executive teams;
• Maintain and promote scientific excellence within the architecture team

Qualifications:

• PhD completed before starting the role
• At least 10 years of experience in areas like quantum information, ion trapping, atomic physics, spectroscopy, optics, lasers, cryogenics, photonics, vacuum systems, or related lab work
• Must be a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, or with asylum/refugee status)
• Cannot be a national of China or Russia unless also a U.S. citizen (due to national security requirements)

Preferred:

• 15+ years in scientific R&D, engineering, or leadership
• Strong experience in designing or operating quantum information systems
• Expertise in quantum error correction, quantum algorithms, or quantum system modeling
• Experience in laser cooling, ion/atom trapping, and experimental optimization;
• Skilled in building control systems for data collection and signal analysis;
• Track record of scientific publication and technical communication
