Job Description
Job Title: Materials Handler. Location: Milpitas, California, United States
Primary site: Milpitas, with travel between Palo Alto and San Jose locations
This role manages stocking, kitting, moving, counting, receiving, and shipping of materials, including semiconductor wafers; The position requires movement of materials across multiple Bay Area sites, mainly in Milpitas.
Responsibilities:
- Promote a strong safety culture with a focus on doing tasks safely and correctly the first time
- Perform daily material handling and logistics tasks efficiently
- Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment;
- Complete all assigned trainings and participate in continuous improvement programs
Material Handling and Logistics
- Stock, kit, move, count, receive, and ship materials
- Move materials between stockroom, operations floor, engineering areas, warehouse, and shipping areas
- Transport materials between Milpitas, Palo Alto, and San Jose sites;
- Prepare parts for shipment using pallet jacks, pallet wraps, and banding tools
- Lift and move materials above 50 lbs as required
Shipping and Receiving
- Receive and verify incoming materials and update the inventory management system
- Track, trace, and update shipment status
- Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, finance, and other teams regarding shipments
- Process shipments using UPS and FedEx software
- File documentation for international shipments
- Support daily shipping and receiving activities
Inventory Management
- Help implement and support a new inventory management system
- Ensure accurate inventory locations, status, and levels;
- Perform data entry, import data, review records, and organize documentation
- Consolidate parts to optimize physical storage space
- Maintain shipping material supplies
Qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent industry experience
- 5 or more years of experience in logistics operations
- 5 or more years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management, and import or export operations
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
- Experience processing domestic and international shipments
- Ability to lift and move materials over 50 lbs;
- Strong attention to detail in time sensitive environments
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong organization skills and sense of urgency
Preferred:
- Experience supporting semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments
- Experience working in fast scaling operations with evolving processes
Benefits and Compensation:
- Bay Area base pay range: 30 to 35 USD per hour
- Actual compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, and location
- Base pay is part of the total compensation package and may change in the future
