Physical Design Technician

Job Description

Job Title: Physical Design Technician – Quantum & AI Hardware. Location: Austin, Texas, United States

Responsibilities:

• Translate system architecture requirements into robust PCB layout designs.
• Design high-density, multi-layer, high-speed circuit boards using Cadence Allegro PCB Editor;
• Apply strong knowledge in placement, routing, padstacks, board outlines, constraints, and tuning methods.
• Integrate updates into existing designs to meet evolving product specs;
• Collaborate with teams from mechanical design, signal integrity, and power engineering to ensure cross-disciplinary requirements are met.
• Support comprehensive design reviews, incorporate feedback, and meet schedule milestones.
• Conduct final PD checks, Valor checks, and generate fabrication/assembly data for manufacturing.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience with Cadence Allegro PCB Editor.
• Proven ability to work independently and drive tasks to completion.
• No formal education requirement, though an Associate’s Degree is preferred.

Preferred:

• Experience with Mentor Graphics (Siemens) Valor Process Engineering Solutions.
• Understanding of Card Engineering, Signal and Power Integrity, EMC, and related areas.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
