Job Description
Job Title: Senior PR Manager, Custom Silicon & Quantum Computing. Location: San Francisco, CA; New York, NY; Seattle, WA
Responsibilities:
- Translate complex chip design, systems architecture, and quantum research into compelling narratives for both technical and general audiences.
- Partner with chip architects, quantum scientists, and business leaders to support product launches, strategic announcements, and thought leadership.
- Prepare engineers and scientists to be credible spokespeople representing technical work externally.
- Coordinate messaging and amplify the hardware story across Amazon and AWS communications teams;
- Develop proactive media strategies that highlight customer impact, technical differentiation, and long-term roadmap.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of professional experience in communications or public relations.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated ability to build proactive PR programs in technical domains.
- Skilled in navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments;
- Experience translating R&D and technical work into accessible stories for media, customers, and industry audiences.
Preferred:
- Proven track record in technology storytelling campaigns in enterprise hardware, software, semiconductors, cloud infrastructure, or advanced research.
- High judgment under tight timelines while balancing transparency and competitive sensitivity;
- Self-driven and entrepreneurial in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
- Experience preparing technical experts as external spokespeople.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Base salary range:
- San Francisco, CA / New York, NY: $165,800 – $224,300 annually
- Seattle, WA: $150,800 – $204,000 annually
- Additional compensation: Sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs)
