Production Planner

Job Description

Job Title: Production Planner – 586. Location: Broomfield, Colorado, USA

You will work closely with scientists, engineers, procurement teams, and program managers to ensure materials are available on time, risks are managed and costs are optimized across key quantum technology projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Track project milestones related to subsystem builds and delivery dates
  • Identify schedule risks and take action to protect project timelines
  • Manage production planning using SAP modules, including Production Planning, Project Systems, and Material Management
  • Coordinate material needs for low-volume, new development subsystem builds in an R&D lab environment
  • Expedite part shortages through procurement and internal operations teams;
  • Maintain detailed part shortage lists and resolve material issues quickly
  • Monitor inventory levels in stockrooms and labs to avoid shortages, excess stock, or obsolescence
  • Assess supply chain risks and develop recovery plans for hardware delivery changes
  • Support engineering design changes through change control tracking and material disposition
  • Maintain accurate material records for asset tracking and capitalization;
  • Conduct regular asset audits and resolve discrepancies
  • Communicate clearly with all internal stakeholders to support project success

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement)
  • At least 5 years of experience in production planning, control, or coordination
  • Experience in high-tech manufacturing, aerospace, semiconductors, or similar industries
  • Experience working in new development or R&D-driven environments;
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, green card holder, or granted asylum or refugee status)
  • Due to U.S. government national security requirements, candidates must not be nationals of the People’s Republic of China or Russia unless they are also U.S. citizens

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of material management principles and best practices;
  • Experience with ERP and MRP systems and materials tracking processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Solid project management skills with a focus on both execution and process improvement

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Annual salary range of $108,000 to $135,000
  • Compensation based on skills, education, and experience
