Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Applications Software Developer. Location: Palo Alto, California, United States

The Quantum Applications Software Developer will join the applications team focused on algorithms for the fault-tolerant regime; The engineer will design and build advanced software tools that drive quantum application development, from simulation to real-world use cases.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of quantum application software tools for internal and external users.
• Build and maintain high-quality, reliable codebases for quantum simulators, resource estimators, and circuit compilers.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design and test quantum algorithms for real-world problems.
• Conduct system-level analysis to evaluate and optimize resource requirements for fault-tolerant quantum computations.
• Optimize quantum algorithms at the subroutine, circuit, and compiled gate-set level;
• Support domain-specific quantum application integrations and contribute to the development of new algorithmic techniques.

Qualifications:

• Graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional programming experience in Python, C++, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience in quantum computing, quantum circuit compilation, or quantum algorithms.
• Familiarity with fault-tolerant computing and resource optimization;
• Experience deploying software in cloud or distributed environments using RESTful APIs.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional startup environment.
