Signal & Power Integrity/System Developer

Job Description

Job Title: Entry Level Signal and Power Integrity/System Hardware Developer Engineer. Location: Rochester, Minnesota, United States

The role also includes collaboration with IBM Research on wafer-scale and cryogenic quantum hardware; You will help improve early hardware through modelling, lab testing, and design validation.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed analysis of pre-production hardware using electromagnetic modelling tools, scripting, and transient simulations.
  • Validate and improve high-performance hardware designs that support IBM Quantum systems;
  • Carry out lab verification and characterization on early hardware to support model-to-hardware correlation.
  • Work with cross-site teams and leadership to support strategy, timelines, and product goals;
  • Help refine and improve design and development processes using Agile methods.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics;
  • Experience with microprocessors, ASICs, signal and power integrity, 1st level chip packaging, or hardware development.
  • Ability to complete technical tasks with accuracy.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills;
  • Ability to solve problems independently and as part of a team.
  • A growth mindset and desire to learn.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of signal and power integrity tools such as ANSYS and Cadence.
  • Familiarity with PCB design tools;
  • Background in electrical engineering, transmission line theory, digital signal processing, radio frequency design, and packaging materials and processes.
