Job Description

Job Title: Social Media Manager – IBM Quantum. Location: Yorktown Heights, New York, United States (Hybrid)

This role is ideal for a natural storyteller who is excited about emerging technologies like quantum computing, AI, and cloud; The manager will develop and lead social media strategies that connect IBM Quantum with audiences worldwide, turning complex deep tech into engaging narratives.

Responsibilities:

• Build and execute a comprehensive social media and content strategy across multiple platforms.
• Manage brand presence, develop content, and drive cross-channel campaigns aligned with IBM’s business goals.
• Lead the planning and rollout of major brand announcements with measurable business impact;
• Collaborate with writers, designers, video teams, researchers, executives, and product teams to ensure cohesive storytelling.
• Translate complex quantum and HPC concepts into accessible content tailored for social media.
• Use analytics to evaluate performance, optimize content, and identify growth opportunities.
• Manage technical communities on platforms like LinkedIn, Reddit, GitHub, and YouTube to increase engagement and brand reputation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Proven experience in growing and managing social media communities, particularly around technical or deep tech content.
• Strong understanding of the social media landscape, content strategy, SEO best practices, and CMS tools such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, or Sprout.
• Ability to write quickly and clearly, making technical topics compelling to diverse audiences.
• Experience using analytics to influence and improve content performance;
• Familiarity with HPC, AI, cloud computing, and quantum technologies.

Preferred:

• 5+ years in social media management and/or content strategy.
• 3+ years creating social media content about deep tech.
• Strong strategic thinker and effective collaborator;
• Experience thriving in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments.
