Job Description

Job Title: Software Developer, (Hybrid). Location: Canada or United States (Hybrid)

As a Software Developer, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of the Leap platform, which enables hybrid quantum-classical applications; This role is ideal for developers passionate about solving large-scale technical challenges, driving innovation, and working across complex distributed systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain core components and services for the Hybrid platform with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Work across all stages of the software development lifecycle: requirements, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Implement DevOps, testing, and observability best practices to ensure high-quality software delivery;
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native workflows for better efficiency;
• Contribute to product discussions and engineering improvements across teams.
• Collaborate in annual hackathons to design and prototype innovative features.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
• 2–5+ years of professional software development experience;
• Strong programming skills in Python and at least one compiled language.
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and DevOps tools;
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and performance tuning.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Interest in quantum computing (previous experience is a plus but not required).

Preferred:

• Experience building secure, high-performance public-facing APIs.
• Familiarity with hybrid computing, HPC systems, or scientific computing;
• Knowledge of optimization problems or infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
• Contributions to open-source software or developer communities.
