Job Title: Staff Technical Account Manager (Optimization). Location: Remote, United States
Responsibilities:
- Present D-Wave's quantum computing solutions to prospective customers by understanding their computational challenges and aligning products to business needs.
- Communicate the company's vision, product strategy, and technology roadmap to executive and technical stakeholders.
- Deliver technical presentations at conferences, webinars, seminars, and customer events.
- Support marketing initiatives by hosting webinars, participating in industry conferences, and representing D-Wave at trade shows.
- Conduct regular technical meetings throughout customer onboarding, implementation, expansion, and support phases.
- Build and maintain long-term technical relationships with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify new customer projects that can benefit from D-Wave's quantum optimization solutions;
- Serve as a subject matter expert on quantum optimization, operations research, and industry trends.
- Gather customer feedback and communicate product requirements to internal engineering and product teams.
- Explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide thoughtful technical guidance and exceptional customer support.
- Identify opportunities for professional services through customer discovery sessions.
- Provide advisory services and technical support throughout customer projects.
- Travel approximately 30% to 50% for customer meetings, conferences, training sessions, and sales events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another STEM discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Technical Account Manager, Sales Engineer, Solution Architect, Presales Engineer, Solution Integrator, or Customer Success Engineer;
- Strong knowledge of optimization, operations research, algorithms, or applied mathematics.
- Experience with Operations Research methodologies and optimization tools.
- At least 2 years of professional Python programming experience.
- Experience supporting customers in logistics, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, financial technology, research, or education industries.
- Experience using GitHub and REST APIs.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and business audiences.
Preferred:
- Experience with logistics, scheduling, resource allocation, or similar optimization projects.
- Experience with quantum computing technologies.
- Experience with AI or Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Project management experience.
- Advanced degree in a related technical field.
Benefits and Compensation:
- Annual salary: $111,200 to $166,800 USD, based on experience and qualifications.
