Quantum Systems Test Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Systems Test Engineer. Location: Goleta, California, USA

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and troubleshoot custom electronics and benchtop test jigs used for quantum system validation.
• Develop, document, and execute both routine and specialized test procedures for emerging components and processes;
• Perform system-level and sub-component failure analysis using standard electrical testing tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, signal generators).
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure reliable system operations across electrical and mechanical interfaces.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, or signal generators.
• 1 year of experience in failure analysis and troubleshooting;
• Proficiency in programming with languages such as Python, Shell, C++, or Matlab.

Preferred:

• Experience collaborating in shared codebases and version-controlled environments.
• Knowledge of electrical design principles and analog/radio frequency components.
• Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals and integration practices;
• Familiarity with cryogenic systems and low-temperature test environments is a plus.

Benefits:

• Base salary range: $93,000–$133,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
