Quantum Systems Test Engineer

Job Description

Job Title: Quantum Systems Test Engineer. Location: Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. Job Type: Early professional (entry level, full time)

The work involves hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and collaboration across engineering teams working with advanced tools, cryogenic systems and microwave electronics.

Responsibilities:

• Test, validate, and integrate full quantum systems
• Support the test process, including automated tools, scripts, and test workflows
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve system issues and defects;
• Work with cross-functional teams to improve overall system quality and performance
• Create and update documentation for integration and testing processes;
• Support system uptime by addressing incidents and improving monitoring systems

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong programming skills with Python, Shell, or C or C++
• Experience working in a laboratory environment;
• Knowledge of electrical test equipment and signal analyzers
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Understanding of cryogenic systems and low-temperature testing;
• Hands-on work with microwave electronics and equipment such as vector network analyzers
• Strong debugging abilities, including test automation and electronic debugging tools
• Knowledge of electrical design principles and analog or radio frequency components
• Ability to work well under time constraints
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
