Senior Global Tax Director

Job Description

Job Title: Senior Global Tax Director. Location: College Park, Maryland, United States (Hybrid or remote from anywhere in the US; offices in WA, MD, Toronto, Switzerland)

You will oversee tax strategy, compliance, reporting, and M&A tax support across multiple regions; This role reports to the VP, Global Controller and works cross-functionally with legal, finance, accounting, and M&A teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead corporate tax compliance worldwide, including income tax, indirect tax (VAT/GST), and other filings
  • Prepare and review ASC 740 tax provisions for quarterly and annual financials
  • Oversee tax reconciliations, SOX controls, and uncertain tax positions
  • Support M&A tax strategy and oversee tax aspects of purchase accounting under US GAAP
  • Manage tax risks related to business structure changes;
  • Lead tax forecasting, audit readiness, and tax-related business support
  • Maintain the global tax calendar and coordinate filings (income tax, property tax, etc.)
  • Operationalize and manage transfer pricing and intercompany transactions
  • Oversee expatriate tax compliance and calculations;
  • Act as main contact for global tax audits and agency communications
  • Stay up to date with tax law changes and provide related guidance
  • Lead and deliver ad hoc tax projects
  • Research technical tax matters and prepare/review related memos

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of professional experience, including 10+ years in multinational corporate tax
  • Proven leadership in global tax functions, M&A, and international expansion
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740, tax software, and internal controls
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills

Preferred:

  • Experience at a Big 4 firm and in corporate tax roles
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and international tax laws
  • Experience in SaaS or fast-growing technology companies;
  • Familiarity with Subpart F, GILTI, VAT/GST, and sales/use tax

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Base Salary Range: $189,659 – $247,322
  • Includes variable bonus and equity;
  • Total compensation depends on experience, skills, and location
