Job Title: Quantum Cloud Engineering Intern 2026. Location: Yorktown Heights, San Jose, Cambridge, Albany (NY, MA, CA), United States

As a Quantum Cloud Engineering Intern, you will be part of a team that drives innovation in computing; This role places you at the center of IBM’s work in Research, Software, and Infrastructure, contributing to projects that define the future of hybrid cloud and quantum computing.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the development of a distributed cloud platform for quantum workloads.
• Build Python-based solutions to support platform reliability, scalability, and integration.
• Assist in infrastructure maintenance to ensure performance of cloud-native systems;
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantum capabilities into cloud environments.
• Support experimentation, troubleshooting, and development of tools that enable future quantum applications.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED (minimum).
• Strong programming skills in Python;
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts.
• Interest in quantum computing technologies.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with Django, REST APIs, and Docker;
• Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Exposure to Qiskit or other quantum frameworks.

• Competitive compensation: projected annual salary between $78,624 and $131,040 (adjusted for internship terms).
