Job Title: Intern 2026: Quantum Developer Advocate. Location: Yorktown Heights, NY; San Jose, CA; Cambridge, MA; Albany, NY, USA
This position is ideal for individuals who are skilled in both technology and communication, enjoy explaining complex concepts, and thrive in collaborative environments; You will work closely with researchers, software developers, and educators to advance community initiatives, workforce development, and IBM’s quantum education strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Support IBM’s quantum education and community enablement initiatives.
- Collaborate with researchers, developers, and educators to build a strong ecosystem.
- Explain complex quantum concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide hands-on support for workforce development projects;
- Assist in advancing IBM’s education and enablement strategies across multiple ecosystems.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
- Strong background in physics, chemistry, computer science, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Python and Qiskit SDK;
- Understanding of common quantum algorithms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to teach and present technical concepts clearly.
Preferred:
- General knowledge of superconducting qubits.
- Familiarity with quantum error suppression and mitigation techniques.
- Experience running workloads on IBM quantum devices;
- Awareness of the limitations of classical computing.
- Published research in quantum computational science.
